Neem Soap with Neem Oil – A Wonderful Ayurvedic Product

Neem soap is a wonderful ayurvedic product that is beneficial in skin related complaints. Most neem soaps have pure neem oil as their base. In some cases the neem oil as well neem leaves are used in its production. This is a winning combination in neem soap making as it means the soap retains all the essential properties of neem. Pure neem oil and neem leaves have antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. It is the antimicrobial qualities of neem that underscores neem soap’s excellence as a remedy for skin complaints.

Neem soap is commonly used as a treatment to clear up acne and acne scars. Some acne treatments are pretty harsh and drying to the skin. But Neem soap for acne gently cleanses the skin without stripping away natural oils. Added ingredients combine with neem to also soothe, moisturize, tone and leave the skin aglow.  (See also Neem -A Cheap Natural Acne Treatment).

The soap works deep within the pores of the skin to remove fungi, parasites and germs. The medicinal value of neem soaps is useful in other skin problems such as rashes, eczema, cuts, abrasions, boil and psoriases. It is also helpful in treating lice and dandruff. In this regard it is regarded as safe for use on humans and pets.

Neem soap is a great alternative to the direct use of pure neem oil. Apart from the fact that neem soaps contain the same useful properties of pure neem oil, the smell factor is largely more tolerable than in the case of the latter. Pure neem oil has a rather unpleasant odor. Although this forms the base for neem soaps the smell is not an issue in the soaps because other ingredients such as essential oils or fragrant oils are usually added to mask the strong neem scent and enhance the overall effective quality of the soap. Even if the neem odor is detected, which is usually subtle in neem soaps anyway, it generally does not linger after the soap is washed or rinsed from the skin.

In order to ensure that one gets maximum benefits from neem soaps it is important to purchase the right kind. The quality of neem soaps vary depending on the manufacturing process which most times dictate the neem oil content. Neem soaps containing about 20% neem oil are sufficiently strong for treating skin ailments. Sometimes the neem oil content can be as high as 30% – 40%, but cannot go much higher as the soap will have too oily a base. There are quite a few neem soaps on the market, but the handcrafted neem soaps generally guarantee that you will receive a more natural and superior variety of the product. For information purposes several neem soaps that appear to be of good quality are margo neem soap, limda neem soap, and dabur neem soap. So for great looking skin go right ahead and avail yourselves of neem soaps and shop around for the bargains.

Revitol Stretch Mark Cream -Does it work?

Does Revitol stretch mark cream work as it is advertised? I’ve been on a quest to find a stretch mark cream to remove stretch marks for sometime now. Having checked out the entry on this site about whether Trilastin System 2 removes stretch marks, and not seeing anyone reply, it leads me to doubt the effectiveness of that solution. So I want to focus here on the Revitol product on the market for stretch marks.

I want to be fair to the product, which in this case is Revitol Stretch Mark Cream. It wouldn’t be right to expect it to do something that it is not said to do. Therefore, I will highlight here what effects you can expect to get from using the product, according to Revitol.

The first thing to note is that the primary use advertised is that of prevention. The Revitol stretch mark cream is supposed to primarily prevent stretch marks. While pregnant women seem to be the main target audience for this cream, I would expect that it should still function in a similar manner for those who are prone to developing stretch marks, such as adolescents and body builders.

Now although prevention is what is stressed for what the cream is good for, it is also claimed that this cream is good for treating already existing stretch marks. However, unlike other products on the market, it is stated quite explicitly that it will not remove stretch marks completely. Here is a quotation from Revitol:

“A great product, such as our Stretch Mark Prevention cream, will significantly diminish the appearance of stretch marks, but we cannot guarantee they will be gone completely”

Fair enough. In judging this product, we should not expect that it will totally eradicate existing stretch marks. However, if it significantly diminishes the appearance of stretch marks, then that means there should clearly be a noticeable difference in using this product.

I submit that the basis on judging Revitol stretch mark prevention cream, is not so much on whether it prevents stretch marks, but on whether it really reduces existing stretch marks to any great extent. The reason why I would use this as the focal point in evaluating the product, as opposed to what it is primarily advertised as, is that it is really difficult to tell whether it did prevent stretch marks. For the fact that you are pregnant, does not mean that you will develop stretch marks without the aid of creams. Therefore, using the cream and finding that you did not develop stretch marks does not conclusively show that the cream worked, as there was a chance anyway that you would not have acquired stretch marks.

Revitol Stretch Mark Cream comes with a money back guarantee. However, as at the time of writing this, the conditions for which this applies were not clearly spelt out in the policy details. Hopefully this will soon be corrected.

Now I have not used Revitol stretch mark cream, and I do not know anyone who has. But I put this call out for any who has any experience with this product, to share your experience. I want this place to be for honest feedback. Affiliate links will not be allowed in any replies to this.

A Cheap Natural Acne Treatment – Neem

I was doing some research on hair products and bought this hair oil that did wonders for my hair. I took note of the ingredients and did a bit of research on each one. The ingredient that really got my attention though was neem oil because I never knew about it before then.

Based on my research I gathered that it was the ingredient largely responsible for my satisfactory hair results. But I also learnt that neem was also useful for acne and skin infections. And so when I was online looking for hair products I came across neem powder packaged in a box. The actual name of the product is Hesh Naturoriche Neem Tone Powder. The write up introduced it as an ayurvedic blend that cures skin allergies, removes acne, acne spots and cures prickly heat. It was also said to add a glow to the skin. Neem soap is also available, but my experience is with the powder.

I had good results using the oil in my hair so I was eager to try the powder on my skin to see if I would get excellent results as well. I bought the powder. The results were exceptional. It worked just as well, better actually than the apple cider vinegar, as it was not as drying (a moisturizer is still needed).

In a few days the acne pimples began to disappear and it really did clear up the old acne scars too. They also were not joking about the glow to the skin, which was also evident. All one has to do is to take a small amount of the powder and add plain or rose water (I used plain water) to make a paste which should then be applied over the entire face and left on for about 20 minutes or until dry.

The face should then be rinsed off carefully with warm water and then cold water. Dry and apply your moisturizer of choice. I did this daily. It is now October 2009 and this remedy has been working well for me. I however now apply the paste every other day.

This remedy is also relatively inexpensive. I purchased a 100g box online for $3.49. This does not include shipping and handling. Indian groceries may stock this product and I believe one could get it for less than the online price. And of course there would be no shipping or handling fees to contend with. The 100g box lasted for about four months with regular use. I highly recommend this to any individual searching for a cheap, natural effective solution to their acne problem. Try it; you will not likely be disappointed

Natural Acne Treatments – Apple Cider Vinegar

In the latter part of 2008 I began scouring the net for cheap home remedies for acne. I read some information on the use of apple cider vinegar, which was to be diluted and applied to the face for a few minutes and then rinsed off.

I tried this one night, but ignored the part about diluting the solution. I also kept it on my face overnight and rinsed it off the next morning. I was pleased with the results. It appeared to have the effect of reducing the size of the pimples. I did this for a few days and I noticed that the pimples disappeared then. This became a nightly ritual for me and the results were generally pleasing.

There were drawbacks though. I found the apple cider vinegar very drying to my face so if one is going to use it then it must be followed up with a good moisturizer. Also, overtime it appeared to be a bit too harsh for my face, but this may have been because I was applying it undiluted. So there were a couple nights when I would forgo the treatment. Whenever I did this, the pimples would instantaneously reappear, albeit fewer in number.

This became my treatment of choice until around April 2009 when I discovered another remedy.

Natural Acne Treatments Introduction -Seeking Solution To My Acne Problem

Acne is a skin infection characterized by pimples and blackheads. The area of the skin most vulnerable to acne appears to be the face. Acne also sometimes appears on the upper back and chest regions. This skin disease is not life threatening, but it can seriously damaging to a person’s confidence and self-esteem as acne pimples and scars, particularly facial acne, can be very unsightly and unattractive. For this reason many individuals spend a lot of money on products that claim to be acne solutions. And I am not here to put down the effectiveness of any product. All I will say is that there are cheaper, more natural remedies out there that are sometimes more effective than the chemical based solutions.

I should know because I have spent money in the past trying to cure my acne or at the very least get it to a tolerable stage. This was so important to me at the time because I took a fancy to this guy who told me that he was very superficial and that looks were very important to him. While I will not elaborate much on how that eventually turned out, I will only say that his statement alone was the start of major issues that had a devastating effect on my life. But I digress. In 2006 I visited a dermatologist and needless to say the expense was a bit too much plus I had to be applying too many topical creams and taking capsules, which I really hated. Not long after I gave up on that and pretty much decided for the next two years to ride out the acne train and deal with the flare ups when they occurred.

The Healing Wonders of Herbs -a look at burdock

Burdock is another herb I wish to highlight. The root is used in the treatment of a host of ailments and is reputed to be one of the best blood purifiers around. It rapidly purges the blood of toxins. Liberal consumption of the tea will clear almost any skin disease. Burdock is one of the chief herbs used in treating gout, rheumatism, syphilis, gonorrhea, canker sores and leprosy.

Burdock, like chickweed, is also a diuretic. Although in my experience there was no significant increase in urine flow. It is reputed to be excellent at reducing flesh. I must admit that I have not noticed this effect. But then again I was not consuming it for this purpose, neither did I have excessive pounds to shed. Nonetheless, those who are extremely overweight may consider including burdock in their weight loss regimen, as it may assist in getting them to their weight loss goals faster.

Getting Rid of Stretch Marks -Does TriLastin Work?

Someone I know has these unbecoming stretch marks, and was wondering if there is anything outside of surgery that could remove them. Apparently the suggested solutions like cocoa butter and snail slime do not work, or are not very effective, especially for long standing stretch marks.

I started doing some research on this and I came across a product called TriLastin System 2. Based on testimonials and before and after pictures (on the site selling it), it seems to be effective. But anyone selling a product usually finds a way to make it seem like something to buy. So my challenge is to find objective testimonials.

One problem is that there is an affiliate programme associated with TriLastin System 2, which offers a supposedly nice commission. This is not a problem to the seller. But for the buyer who wants to make sure she is reading real honest testimonials, it can be somewhat difficult to attain this confidence. Since the product is not cheap, and one has to use it for some months to see real effects, one naturally would want to really know that TriLastin System 2 is not a waste of time, that it is really worth it to get it now.

So to assist my friend, and others who are in a similar situation, I am requesting those of you who have used TriLastin System 2 to post here your experience with it. Does it really remove stretch marks?

Since this site is not attempting to sell TriLastin System 2, it can be an objective source for testimonials. Please do not put a link in your responses to your affiliate site for the product. These posts will be removed so as not to compromise the objectivity of the testimonials posted here.

So if TriLastin System 2 worked for you, post here and help others to share in the joy of stretch mark free skin. And do let us know how old your stretch marks were. If this product is a waste, help others to avoid making the mistake of getting it. Thanks!
